Jan Vormann once again indulged his passion for Plastic! This time, in Berlin, he “dispatched” mostly holes that remained from the World War II.

At some very touristic hot-spots, (Kupfergraben corner with Dorotheenstraße) a whole lot of people of all ages spontaneously started “helping” him with the dispachwork project and plastic construction pieces in all colors, between old stones,  gave an interesting new twist in Berlin.

Some Kids, Parents and Grandparents took the project “to another dimension” with a variation of approaches towards the possibilities of constructing with those little bricks..

The Event was accompanied by an indoor exhibition at Jarmuschek + Partners gallery, where Vormann showed a handful of Kinetic objects. The exhibition will last until the13th of June.

Scratching the Surface by Vhils

“Portugal street artist Vhils just released a video he’s been working on entitled, “Scratching the Surface.” The video displays excellent cinematography of Vhils creating one of his pieces. We get to see the thought process, as well as the mastery of all of the tools of his trade; from spray paint to stencil-work to hammer and chisel.”

Amazing video!

Murat Durusoy

an M.A degree in Visual Arts at Sabancı University.

The first thing attracting our attention in Murat Durusoy’s photographs is that the images are reproduced by deformation of images with analogue methods or remediation through computer. This reproduction process begins with the artist’s selecting the images which are appealing to him in content or form among those he shot or encountered in visual communication platforms. Works in the exhibition imply a lack which we may often feel when we encounter with its visual or literal representations. The works can be read as the reflections of the desire that we feel for the objects that we direct this lack and the artist calls this desire “love”. The most important common feature of these works is that each of them carries a formal ambiguity disrupting the transparency of the image and evokes a sense of familiarity in the audience with their content.”
